The Perfect Holiday Wardrobe With Heidi Klein

Where? The Anassa Hotel and Spa

Exactly? Cyprus

When? May 2017

Why? As the first of the Heidi Klein #HKEscapes Girls Getaways series the lovely guys at luxury, swimwear brand Heidi Klein invited me and my bestie LornaLuxe to the exclusive Anassa Hotel and Spa in Cyprus. They gave us each a capsule wardrobe of our favourite styles from the spring summer collection and gave us free reign with the camera on the beautiful island of Cyprus.

There’s nothing better than going a mini break with one of your girlfriends for a total chill out and relaxing holiday. Having had a super hectic few months, this trip was all about wellness, eating fresh healthy food, going to the gym, having massages and relaxing in the sunshine. The Anassa couldn’t have been a more perfect destination.

Here’s my photo diary of our girls getaway from what we wore, to where we stayed…

What to wear when you’re there

The Anassa hotel is a luxury, exclusive property, so the dress code is smart casual with a laid back beach vibe. Due to the nature of the hotel being a design boutique property, the guests are inevitably quite stylish. There were two distinct camps in the style stakes, one was elegant European, beach-chic with muted tones, sophisticated animal prints as well as nautical nods. Channeling ‘I just stepped off my yacht in my deck shoes and all white outfit’ vibes.

Then there is a definite leaning towards more colourful and printed styles, a big trend for high summer, which my geometric ‘Sophie Anderson x Heidi Klein’ print bikini fitted into perfectly. Think more fun, global traveller style. What I found quite interesting is that all the looks matched the surroundings beautifully, from the blue and white graphic back drops, natural sandy beaches to taking inspiration from the colourful bougainvillea which adorns the property.

Where we stayed

The Anassa Hotel and Spa is an exclusive, luxury resort built into the lush green hillside, overlooking a soft sandy beach and calm waters. It’s great for a romantic break, it’s family friendly or it’s also perfect for a girls getaway like the one Lorna and I were on. The villas and suites are built into palatial, white washed, low rise buildings dotted over the olive tree and floral filled grounds. It’s a picture of tranquility.

The rooms are decorated in a delicate, neutral palette of sandy browns and crisp whites, perfectly mimicking the environment outside. Fresh flowers and the scent of clean washed linens waft in the breeze when the balcony doors are open. Everything is minimal, muted with sunlight streaming in through the floor to ceiling windows. The whole experience is supremely calming and luxurious. I would recommend the rooms on the third floor, which has exclusive lift access, pick the room with the rooftop jacuzzi if you feel like pushing the boat out.

Eating and Drinking

The hotel offers four daytime dining options including the main buffet outdoors restaurant, two pool side restaurants and a traditional Cypriot taverna style BBQ. And for the evening there are two fine dining options, one pan Asian and the other modern European or the main buffet restaurant. There’s plenty of options to keep your tummy occupied for the whole trip. Time to wear the cover up I think!
